Employment Opportunity Initiative:

Focus on Youth Experiencing Homelessness & Youth with CORI’s

In December 2015, in collaboration with Community Call, the Network hosted an Employment Initiative planned by young adults over the course of two months. Youth employed at Freedom House during the summer gave their feedback regarding current job fair models. They discussed and proposed new initiatives to better serve youth experiencing homelessness and youth with CORI’s.

As a result, BYSN and Community Call hosted a two-day employment initiative with free career readiness, dress for success, and resume workshops. The second day followed youth in the process with one on one mentors and connections to employers who accepted resumes and held on the spot interviews with attendees.
