HSReD / High School ReDesign Community Forum

The Network is actively involved in the Boston High School Redesign process (HSReD) with the City of Boston Education Cabinet.

In May 2015, BYSN hosted an HSReD Community Forum that engaged over 75 Network youth and 20 staff from all 15 Network organizations. This is significant as the Network hosted one of the only community forums for youth attending alternative education programs. At the BYSN HSReD Community Forum, BYSN Youth Council members led focus groups with attendees. All focus group feedback was posted across a large wall and each attendee was given three colored dots.

Attendee dots were color-coded according to age (16-24 yrs old GREEN; 24+ BLUE) and provided a visual map of adult and youth priorities.
