Why are we launching the Young Sheroes and Heroes Award? Because Boston is full of amazing, committed, talented, brave and extraordinary young people whose achievements, accomplishments and acts of selflessness are too often overlooked, unreported and ignored.

JVS Bridges to College is now able to offer morning classes beginning
September 13. We are now recruiting for a class of 20 students, with ESOL learners being the top priority. Classes will run 3 mornings a week--M-T-W---from 9 AM to 1 PM. Testing and information sessions begin the week of Aug. 2. Note our application deadline of August 30 (no exceptions).  The attached flyer has more details.

To:  Massachusetts Youth and Young Adults, Ages 14-20

Do you want to learn and perform dance across Boston? Help young children learn to read and write? Meet with public officials and create change? Then sign up to become a youth leader at the Hyde Square Task Force! You'll work around 10 hours each week on one of our five youth leadership teams, with focus areas like dance, organizing, health, and literacy.

The Leardership Program is a YEAR-ROUND apportunity for yougn people (NOT A SUMMER JOB).  Hyde Square Task Force has diverse Leadership Programs for participants to take advantage of. Participants will become part of one of the following programs:

TechMission currently has positions for aspiring youth web designers ages 14-17.

ABCD's invites youth ages 16-21 to participate in a number of year round youth explorartory opportunities through the Career Explorations program.  Through the Career Explorations program youth will recieve hands on job training in a career field of thier choice, career awareness, educational assistance and support, as well as an array of life skills and job readiness development opportunit

ABCD Summerworks is currently accepting applications for summer jobs.  Applicants must be a Boston resident, age 14-24 and meet the income guideline criteria.  All applications are available at any ABCD Neighborhood center.  Youth are encouraged to apply as soon as possible!

In-Focus, a BNN youth media program, is recruiting 12 paid Youth Production Assistants (ages 15-17).  Application deadline is Fri, March 19 - see below for application details.
