EDCO Youth Alternative
EDCO Youth Alternative provides a full academic program, counseling and related support services, and part-time employment for students who require a more supportive environment than public schools can offer. The program is funded by the City of Boston, the Boston Public Schools, the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and other sponsoring agencies.
What is EDCO Youth Alternative?
- An alternative high school program which offers a supportive environment for students who are Boston residents.
- An education program devoted to working individually with students to help them grow and meet their education and job placement goals.
- A program that re-enrolls students in the Boston Public Schools
- A program that provides small, competency-based, accredited classes in regular high school subjects (English, reading, math, history, science, art, computer literacy, physical education) leading to a Boston Public School diploma.
- A program that links school and work sites to enable students to earn academic credit for each course that is completed and credit for successful work performance.
- A program that provides students with supportive personal, school, and work counseling.
