Youth Options Unlimited seeking a candidate with significant experience in working with employers and community partners in the greater Boston area with the focus of developing solid placements for our young people in the private sector and other opportunities that will lead to productive experience, wages, and additional opportunities.  See attached for additional information.

Attached, please find the RFP from the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship program, which places highly qualified Americorps Interns in youth serving organizations around the state. This is a great resource that a few network organizations already utilize. Check it out and apply if you can. The RFP deadline is February 5th, 2009.

Hurry: Now accepting applications for MARCH class

Year Up is one-year, intensive training and educational program that provides young adults, ages 18-24, with hands-on skill development, college credits and a corporate apprenticeship. Participants focus their study on one of two areas, Investment Operations or Information Technology. Students also develop effective communication, leadership and teamwork skills. They are dually enrolled at Cambridge College and can earn up to 18 college credits while earning an educational stipend! The program is free of cost and students earn money throughout the year.

YouthBuild Boston is now recruiting unemployed or underemployed youth for the following opportunities: 

ABCD Career Explorations announces upcoming career exploration programs: Financial Services, Green Jobs, Health Careers, Early Child Education, Math and Science Remediation. Learn skills, career exposure, paid internships, summer jobs! Programs target Boston youth ages 16-21 (income eligible). See flier for additional details.

Crittenton Women's Union hosting an Open House for their Youth GED program - Fri, 12/5 from 9am-12pm. Interested students should call the inquiry line (857-559-2124) although anyone is welcome to attend. Orientation will be held the following week for a new class. Students must attend both Orientation and Open House to participate in the program. CWU is located at 10 Perthshire Road in Brighton (directions).

BEST Youth Worker Certificate Program will start on January 27th.  Attached is a flyer and registration form for anyone in the youth field that might be interested in a professional development opportunity that will enhance their youth/ youth development work.  Follow the link for additional information about the BEST Initiative

Do you want to get hands-on training in digital video and studio television production using the latest, state-of-the-art technology and equipment?

Teen Voices is a biannual publication written and edited entirely by and for teenage and young adult women. Teen Voices is committed to providing a forum for girls to share their stories and discuss issues such as diversity, teen motherhood, sex, relationships and women's health. Teenagers in the mentoring program will act as Teen Editors where they learn skills in editing, creative writing, media literacy, technology and social justice while working in an engaging workplace.
