The Boston Capacity Tank will award 20 to 40 hours of individualized technical assistance to faith-based and community organizations that provide direct services to youth in the City of Boston. Award size: $3,000 in technical assistance, 25 awards. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis from Oct 2, 2009- Jan 8, 2010. This In-Focus Youth Media after-school job opportunity (10 hours per week) for Boston teens is offered through the Boston Youth Fund and Boston Neighborhood Network. For more information about the six positions available at BNN (see below), email InFocus@bnntv.org.

The BEST Initiative offers a 32 hour training focused on the youth development approach, core competencies of youth work and professionalization.  It is being offered at a reduced rate for 2009-2010 with local funding support - $350/ person.  Fall session runs 9/29-11/17, Tuesdays, 9:30-2:00 and Spring session runs 3/30-5/25, Tuesdays, 9:30-2:00.  Register at www.YouthWorkCentral.org.

LEAH (Leaders in Education, Action and Hope) is a mentorship program that trains and places high school students at elementary and middle school out-of-school time programs to work as mentors and to lead hands-on activities.  Applications are due September 25 (attached).
