YBB is still accepting applications until 4pm Wed 5/13/08 for our paid career exploration program in Landscaping and Green Industries.  In the Project Advantage program students (age 16- 18) learn job skills and are able to explore a variety of career paths while working on their GED.  They work directly with professionals in landscaping and green industries while work

YBB is still accepting aplication until 4pm Wed 5/13/08 for our paid Construction Training Program.  In the Constuction Training Program students (age 18 - 24) learn job skills in the constuction trades while doing hands-on work at one of YBB's building projects.  They work directly with building trades instructors while learning carpentry and other skills while building low-income

YouthBuild Boston’s Project Advantage Program is looking for a trainee who is interested in entering the landscape construction workforce. Gain valuable landscape training while developing the skills needed to enter the growing green industry workforce.

YouthBuild Boston is seeking a substitute teacher to work Mon & Wed mornings for the next 2 months. Additional opportunities may exist beyond that. Under the guidance of our head instructor, the sub will teach a variety of GED prep subjects to small groups of 16 - 23 year old students. This position pays a competative hourly wage.

Topics include: Why College?, Economics of Higher Education, Meet the Students, Landing the Job. Workshops are available to all BYSN members. For more information or to schedule a workshop, contact Peter Barros (peter@hydesquare.org).

Weekly support meetings on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm at William J. Ostiguy High School in Downtown Crossing (ABCD - 19 Temple Place, 3rd Floor). The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using marijuana.
