The BOSTON YOUTH SERVICE NETWORK is a group of community-based organizations providing an integrated continuum of Alternative Education and Career Exploration programs for at-risk youth who have not found success in traditional systems. REFER A YOUTH.

 

Member organizations have a shared mission to improve the quality and diversity of services for youth so they develop the academic, work-readiness, life skills and support structure necessary to become productive adults.

Youth Opportunities Program - Outdoor Trainings for Youth Workers

Appalachian Mountain Club's Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) supports youth workers to get urban and at-risk youth into the outdoors. We do this through trainings, equipment loans, direct service youth adventures, discounts on lodging, and trip planning support.  The Outdoor Leadership Training (OLT) is an experiential, hand-on training that focuses both on technical outdoor skills, and leadership skills.  See below for more details.

Fidelity FutureStage at the Boston Pops Competition 2010

Musicians/vocalists attending a public high school in Boston or Cambridge can compete for a chance to perform at a Boston Pops concert at Symphony Hall on May 26, 2010. The Boston Pops and Fidelity FutureStage are working with First Night to find talented high school musicians and vocalists to take part in the second annual Fidelity FutureStage at the Pops Competition 2010. Up to four instrumental and/or vocal acts will be selected to perform live on stage at a the Boston Pops concert with conductor Keith Lockhart.  See below for details and application information.

El Centro del Cardenal Youth Education's Annual Cultural Festival

El Centro del Cardenal's Youth Education Department developed an Annual Cultural Festival to celebrate the cultures and backgrounds of all students, and also to provide a stage upon which students could express themselves and their cultural backgrounds.

 

This year's acts will include cultural dances & skits, poetry readings, open mic, and a fashion show.
