The BOSTON YOUTH SERVICE NETWORK is a group of community-based organizations providing an integrated continuum of Alternative Education and Career Exploration programs for at-risk youth who have not found success in traditional systems. REFER A YOUTH.
Member organizations have a shared mission to improve the quality and diversity of services for youth so they develop the academic, work-readiness, life skills and support structure necessary to become productive adults.

Tony Chau, from Boston Asian Youth Essential Service GED Program, won the Intel Computer Science Prize at the 61st Annual Citywide Science Fair. His project was a Backpack to minimize the impact on adolescent spinal development.
Trauma/Motivational Interview Training Opportunity

Ostiguy High School is helping to host the National Association of Recovery Schools Conference from July 21 to July 23 at Northeastern University. Although the focus of the conference is issues related to youth in recovery from substance abuse there are two outstanding trainings available that would be helpful for any BYSN staff who work with populations with the following two risk factors: 1. Dealing with the impact of trauma (July 21) 2. Helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence (July 22)
BPHC Break Up Summit for youth and youth-serving organizations

It will be held on July 14th at Northeastern University. This free, one day summit is for youth and adults ages 15 and up. At the summit, youth and adults will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences around how to engage and support friends in healthy break-ups.
REEP 14th Annual Environmental Justice Youth Summit

The Youth Summit is a great opportunity for young people to take part in the struggle for social justice! Youth-led workshops on fixing the MBTA, achieving environmental justice, ending the criminal injustice system, winning youth jobs, and more (final workshop list to come).
