Sponsored by National Black College Alliance's Greatest MINDS

The Greatest MINDS Civic Engagement Initiative came out of the need for Boston to develop a leadership infrastructure for Black communities. Greatest MINDS is working to improve the socio-economic, political and educational issues for people of color and engaging them to participate, work collaboratively and become the catalyst in developing the solutions for community change in City of Boston. For the past 3 years, Greatest MINDS has organized and planned over 100 meetings with politicians, funders, educators, neighborhood activists, artists, entrepreneurs, and community members by developing strategies on how to make Boston a more livable and enjoyable city for people of color. The overall goal of the Greatest MINDS is to build Boston's reputation as a welcoming city for people of color, especially Blacks, and to create spaces and places where people can network personally and professionally, advance their careers, raise their families, build their community, and fully participate in civic, political and social life in the city.

The National Black College Alliance (NBCA) is a network of alumni, college students, and community members who are committed to mentoring the next generation of community leaders. The NBCA encourages community volunteerism, career exploration, and college education to high school students, college students, and young professionals while promoting college completion from local community colleges and institutions as well as supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The NBCA’s Greatest MINDS Civic Engagement Initiative is the organization’s civic convening programming arm.
