Speak up for education, workforce and youth development in the federal budget. Given the volatile discussions about the federal budget, there are many different scenarios for how the budget will come out--both for fy 11 and 12--most of them involve cuts to programs that contribute to dropout prevention and recovery. For example, the High school Graduation Initiative grant just awarded our state is in danger and so are workforce and community development funds. Please contact your House reps and senators to weigh in! Attached is a brief update on the budget and a sample letter for emailing or faxing to your reps or senators.
