Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses (FDNH) celebrated four decades of service to the community and announced its future as College Bound Dorchester!  Listen to College Prep students talking about the organization's new focus and mission on the Callie Crossley show on WGBH Feb 1 (35th minute).

The official name is the final step in a year-long rebranding process that was designed to align the organization's name with its mission to equip all students served with the attitude, skills to experience from college and positively impact the community.

At an event to unveil the new name, Mark Culliton, CEO of College Bound Dorchester said, "We believe that every single person can be college bound and that ever single student deserves the highest of expectations. We don't want to hear the reasons why our students can't succeed, but instead provide them with tools so that they can."

Yvonne Abraham of the Boston Globe also highlighted the importance of the name change and the work that is taking place at College Bound in her article, "Don't assume the worst."

Under its new name, College Bound Dorchester will continue to provide educational services to over 1,000 children, youth and adults through five program areas: Early Education, Out of School Time, Adolescent Development, Alternative Education and Adult Education.
