City Roots is an alternative high school that provides Boston Public School students (16-21 years) with an opportunity to earn their high school diploma while preparing for college. Students participate in extracurricular activities such as field trips, intramural programs, yearbook production, and a prom.
In addition, job developers and career counselors help City Roots students find full- and part-time employment both during the school year and after graduation. Students learn about options in higher education, financial aid, SAT tests, apprenticeship programs, and more. Each year, students receive their high school diplomas at City Roots commencement exercises.
