Youth Transitions Task Force June Meeting
Youth Transitions Task Force is hosting a presentation of original research on the educational outcomes of foster children, conducted by The Home for Little Wanderers, at their upcoming meeting on June 20, 8:30 – 10:30 at the PIC’s Jamaica Plain office (555 Amory Street). Please RSVP to Kathy Hamilton by close of business June 18 (kathy.hamilton@bostonpic.org).
Presenters from The Home will include: Joan Wallace Benjamin, President and CEO; Susan Curnan, Vice President for Performance and Outcomes; Kara Sabalauskas, Assistant Director for Performance and Outcomes and Susan Rabinowitz, Program Development Specialist.
The Home, supported by a Barr Foundation grant, studied a cohort of 90 Boston Public Schools students with connections to the Home. The presentation will include a review of other recent research, the results of this cohort study, foster child focus group findings and recommendations for the education and foster care systems.
