Workshop #2: Teaching 6th-12th Grade Level Equivalency LD Learners
Methods and materials will be presented that a teacher or volunteer tutor could use to teach decoding, spelling, writing and comprehension. Additional issues with ESOL LD learners will be considered. Participants are urged to bring case studies and pre-formulate questions to pose in the session.
This workshop will take place on Wed, 11/7 from 1:30-4:30 pm at the Youth Opportunity conference room at 7 Palmer Street in Roxbury. Click here for directions. Lunch will be provided.
Sylvia Greene from the Cambridge Community Learning Center will be conducting these workshops. This workshop is part of the BYSN joint professional development strategy resulting from the learning disabilities project last year (click here for more information).
Two sessions are being offered to accommodate all staff (10/24 and 11/7). You must RSVP to participate so we can be sure there are adequate materials. Please sign up your staff for this workshop by Friday, 11/2.
Signup below to RSVP for the 11/7 session (you must be logged in). Please contact Heidi Hall at heidi@bysn.org if you do not have a login or are having trouble registering.
