An Information Fair for youth-serving agencies is on Tues, August 31 from 10am-12 noon at Madison Park.  This is a collaboration of the Boston Youth Service Network, Jobs and Community Services and Youth Options Unlimited.  See attached flyer for details (NOTE - the fair will take place at Cafe 75, not the cafeteria).

Citywide summer graduation honors summer graduates

A citywide summer graduation will celebrate students who completed credits this summer to graduate from the Boston Public Schools.  This includes students who completed credits through the alternative summer school at University High School.  The graduation takes place at 6 pm at White Stadium on Mon, August 30.

ABCD's William J. Ostiguy High School is helping to host the National Association of Recovery Schools Conference from July 21 to July 23 at Northeastern University.  Although the focus of the conference is issues related to youth in recovery from substance abuse there are two outstanding trainings available that would be helpful for any BYSN staff who work with populations with the following two risk factors:  1. Dealing with the impact of  trauma  (July 21)   2. Helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence  (July 22)  

BPHC Break Up Summit for youth and youth-serving organizations

The Boston Public Health Commission’s Start Strong Initiative and Northeastern University are proud to announce our inaugural “Break-up Summit”. It will be held on July 14th at Northeastern University. This free, one day summit is for youth and adults ages 15 and up. At the summit, youth and adults will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences around how to engage and support friends in healthy break-ups.
