The BOSTON YOUTH SERVICE NETWORK is a group of community-based organizations working collaboratively to provide alternative education and employment pathways for youth at risk. Organizations engage youth through a continuum of programs including nontraditional learning environments in alternative schools, career exploration programs to build job and life skills, integrated support services and postsecondary connections.

EDCO students at youth showcase

The EDCO Youth Alternative provides a full academic program, counseling and related support services, and part-time employment for students who require a more supportive environment than public schools can offer. EDCO supports Boston youth on a path to graduation.

College Prep classroom

College Bound Dorchester works to ensure that all students view success in college as not just a possibility in their lives but as a baseline expectation. The organization has been serving the community of Dorchester since 1965.

Notre Dame Education Center's High School Diploma program is designed for students who need to finish credits for a high school diploma. Afternoon classes are available.

ABCD neighborhood centers

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) Youth Development programs focus on the critical needs of at-risk and economically disadvantaged teens, providing them with opportunities to earn, learn, and achieve success in school and life.

GED Plus

ESAC's GED Plus PROMISE Mentoring program prepares GED Plus students for achievement in the workforce and educational environment. PROMISE matches volunteer mentors with GED Plus students to focus on relationship building, goal setting, and career exploration activities.

Sociedad Latina youth organizers

With the support of families and the community, Sociedad Latina provides a broad array of programs that promote community leadership, civic engagement, meaningful employment, educational attainment, cultural identity and pride, and the continuation of traditions.

Youth Build Boston Project Advantage

Project Advantage is YouthBuild Boston’s alternative education and workforce development program for young people, ages 16-18, offering academic and vocational training through hands-on exploration of the Green Industry.

Crittenton Women's Union graduation

Crittenton Women's Union GED program provides young adults with the individual attention and supportive services they need to succeed. The full-time program’s holistic approach focuses on academics, support and preparation for an economically self-sufficient future.

Maritime Apprenticeship Program

The Hull Lifesaving Museum's Maritime Apprentice Program (MAP) is a Career Exploration program offering intensive, year-round training for young men and women in the custody of the Department of Youth Services.

Hyde Square transit campaign

Youth from Hyde Square Task Force distributed a survey to 700 young people in Boston to determine the state of relationship between teens and the MBTA police. The result? Change is needed. Youth Community Organizing develops youth leadership and alters societal structures that support injustice.

El Centro del Cardenal graduates

El Centro del Cardenal celebrated their graduates with a ceremony at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. El Centro provides bilingual (English/ Spanish) GED programs for young adults in Boston.

Bridge Transitional Day Progra,

Bridge Over Troubled Waters offers a comprehensive range of services to youth ages 16 to 24 in a positive and safe environment. Bridge can help youth with basic survival services such as food, healthcare and a safe place to go to get off the streets.
